Rapid economic growth has brought new industrialization and new pollution to rural parts of China. 150 million people live along the Huai River Basin in the Henan Province, one of the most polluted stretches of water in the country. Factories dump their wastewater directly into the river, destroying the livelihood of fishermen whose families have worked these waters for hundreds of years.
